Please see below the latest update from our underwriters TIF in regards to the US Immigration Ban
Last updated 31/01/2017
Following the executive order initiated by the USA on Friday 27th January 2017, we at TIFGroup would like to clarify our position.
We always advise all travellers to check the FCO’s advice for their chosen destination and the current advice on this matter can be found here – www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa
For residents of EIRE please follow the advice of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as follows https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/usa/
Cancellation and Curtailment
This type of event is unfortunately not covered across the travel insurance industry for claims relating to cancellation or curtailment. This is because most policies have the following exclusions relating to cancellation and curtailment:
- no cover is available if you are travelling against the advice or recommendations published by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office applicable at the time of your departure; and
- no cover is available due to the delay, confiscation, detention, requisition, damage, destruction or any prohibitive regulations by Customs or other government officials or authorities of any country
