Spain is the second largest EU country after France and can be very hot during the summer months reaching on average 35 degrees in some inland cities. If you are planning to travel around Spain take into account the long distances between places and be well prepared with plenty of water and supplies. Also consider travelling early of later in the day.
Holiday cover when travelling to Spain

Your UK driving license covers all EU countries, carry your passport if you do not have a photo card yet. With NOW travel policies your driving licence is also covered for accidental loss or theft in addition to other travel documents.
Should you have to seek medical assistance whilst in Spain, providing your EHIC (formally E111) will ensure that any treatment received for accident, illness or disease is free or at least subsidised. You are able to apply online, free of charge, or at post offices for an EHIC card to present at the time of treatment.
With Now European Travel Insurance emergency medical bills are covered for added your peace of mind. Our 24 hour medical emergency assistance can be contacted to liaise with the medical providers to iron out any concerns. If we agree to a claim for medical expenses which has been reduced by you using an EHIC you will not have to pay the excess amount under the medical expenses section. All our policies provide the option to also remove any policy excess at the cost of a small additional premium, so you don’t have to pay any costs at the time of treatment which eliminates the need to provide cards or cash when you’re just in your beach wear.
